\nLos cuatro atletas de wingsuit se unieron a Perseidas, tambi\u00e9n conocidas como las \u201cl\u00e1grimas de San Lorenzo\u201d, una lluvia de meteoros que generalmente ocurre en agosto. Esa noche se pudieron ver cerca de 500 meteoros por hora y, de hecho, un fen\u00f3meno que se produce por el paso del cometa Swift-Tuttle y que este a\u00f1o puede verse con cinco veces m\u00e1s intensidad de lo habitual.<\/span><\/div>\n

\nLos saltadores Joakim Sommer (Noruega), Marco Waltenspiel y Georg Lettner (Austria) y el espa\u00f1ol Armando del Rey han querido rendir homenaje a este fen\u00f3meno realizando un vuelo con su traje de alas en La Palma, en Islas Canariasla donde est\u00e1 considerado como el cielo m\u00e1s limpio del Hemisferio Norte para la observaci\u00f3n astron\u00f3mica.<\/span>

Los atletas han saltado desde 1.800 metros de altura y sobrevolado a 170 km\/h el Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos en el municipio de Garaf\u00eda en el que se encuentra el Gran Telescopio de Canarias (GTC) – el mayor telescopio \u00f3ptico de la humanidad-, para terminar la aventura con un aterrizaje hist\u00f3rico con sus trajes iluminados con LED. <\/span>
