Durante el ascenso enfrentar\u00e1n la fuerza de la naturaleza y el temor a lo desconocido, pero su misi\u00f3n es de gran importancia para los intereses de Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white; line-height: 22.72px; margin-bottom: 1.35em; text-align: justify;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Codirigida por Yulene Olaizola y Rub\u00e9n Imaz,&nbsp;<em style=\"line-height: 22.72px;\">Epitafio<\/em>&nbsp;est\u00e1 sustentada en textos del siglo XVI como&nbsp;<em style=\"line-height: 22.72px;\">La historia verdadera de la conquista de la Nueva Espa\u00f1a<\/em>&nbsp;de Bernal D\u00edaz del Castillo. Hablada en n\u00e1huatl y espa\u00f1ol, la cinta es una de las que representan a la cinematograf\u00eda mexicana dentro del 36 Foro Internacional de la Cineteca Nacional y se estrena&nbsp;<strong style=\"line-height: 22.72px;\">este 19 de julio en la Sala 1, Jorge Stahl.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white; line-height: 22.72px; margin-bottom: 1.35em; text-align: justify;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">El filme sigue a Diego de Ordaz quien, en compa\u00f1\u00eda de dos soldados, escal\u00f3 en octubre del siglo XV el volc\u00e1n ubicado en el Estado de M\u00e9xico, para vislumbrar a Tenochtitlan y conseguir el azufre de la monta\u00f1a para fabricar p\u00f3lvora.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white; line-height: 22.72px; margin-bottom: 1.35em; text-align: justify;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">La idea est\u00e1 inspirada en una an\u00e9cdota contenida en el libro de Bernal D\u00edaz del Castillo, quien en no m\u00e1s de dos p\u00e1rrafos, hace una peque\u00f1a menci\u00f3n de ese hecho. Ambos cineastas leyeron el libro y consultaron otras fuentes,<em style=\"line-height: 22.72px;\">&nbsp;como<\/em><em style=\"line-height: 22.72px;\">&nbsp;Las cartas de relaci\u00f3n&nbsp;<\/em><em style=\"line-height: 22.72px;\">de Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s<\/em>&nbsp;y un documento del Vaticano en el que la monarqu\u00eda espa\u00f1ola expuso sus argumentos para invadir Am\u00e9rica.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white; line-height: 22.72px; margin-bottom: 1.35em; text-align: justify;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">La cinta retrata uno de los momentos hist\u00f3ricos m\u00e1s sobresalientes de nuestro pa\u00eds previo a la consumaci\u00f3n de la Conquista. Especula sobre la haza\u00f1a del primer europeo que pis\u00f3 la nieve de la famosa cumbre, un tema ausente en la historia del cine nacional y que anim\u00f3 a los realizadores retomarla.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white; line-height: 22.72px; margin-bottom: 1.35em; text-align: justify;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">&nbsp;\u201cDiego de Ordaz era un personaje fascinante, fue explorador, esp\u00eda, aventurero y muy devoto de la Iglesia y la Corona, era un hombre que amaba a los indios como hermanos, algo muy inusual en un conquistador. Generalmente estamos acostumbrados a ver a los conquistadores como los malvados, sin embargo, aqu\u00ed quisimos mostrar la otra cara de la moneda, humanizarlos y verlos como personas que buscaban cumplir con su religi\u00f3n y sus creencias\u201d, coment\u00f3 Rub\u00e9n Imaz en conferencia de prensa dentro de la 26 edici\u00f3n del Festival Iberoamericano de Cine Cear\u00e1 en Brasil.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white; line-height: 22.72px; margin-bottom: 1.35em; text-align: justify;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Estrenado en el FICUNAM, el filme exhibe una fotograf\u00eda muy naturalista destacando el protagonismo de los volcanes Popocat\u00e9petl y Pico de Orizaba. Tambi\u00e9n subraya el paisaje adverso y extremadamente fr\u00edo. Durante cuatro semanas, la producci\u00f3n de&nbsp;<em style=\"line-height: 22.72px;\">Epitafio<\/em>&nbsp;se adentr\u00f3 en el Pico de Orizaba para realizar el resto del rodaje. Debido a que se registraba una intensa actividad volc\u00e1nica y s\u00edsmica de El Popo, s\u00f3lo pudieron permanecer ah\u00ed una semana.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white; line-height: 22.72px; margin-bottom: 1.35em; text-align: justify;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">En entrevista con La Jornada, Imaz apunt\u00f3 que su pel\u00edcula est\u00e1 sujeta a cr\u00edticas, \u201cprincipalmente de los historiadores. Damos nuestra versi\u00f3n de un acontecimiento importante de la historia que debe ser valorado, m\u00e1s cuando un hecho tan relevante como la Conquista est\u00e1 muy mal documentado por las instituciones p\u00fablicas.
